Tongue in Chic will be having a Chic Charity event next Sunday: Let's gather up and do something for others!

Chic Charity is basically a pet project we have where we collect clothes that girls don't want anymore but are still good condition (and not suitable to donate to an orphanage!) and sell them for RM5-15 each. The whole point of this is to recycle clothes, buy new ones without it being expensive, and all the money goes to the Women's Aid Organisation. Besides the main activity of collecting and selling clothes, there will be acoustic performances and other vendors (mainly accessories and art).So if you wanna sell your stuff (i mean asides from clothes) you could let us know asap and we will put you in the list.Preferably artsy stuff, accessories, and some cool stuff/ideas you guys can do wonders with.

And of course, out of your own sincerity - any amount of donations towards the WAO will be much appreciated from your sales profit.Let's save women out there!

Although this comes approximately 7 days late to do it but perhaps this is our style to say our gratitude to all of you who came over to visit our habitat for all the infamous zookeepers at CAP.zoo-ed last weekend.It happened with lotsa efforts, supports and faith you people have for The Threadszoo.

on the other note: we will be scouting for potential girls especially to be trained to be a model. yes, im doing this for charity because i believe it's about time to have a younger generation layers after us.

so approximately a year ago, i was into the contests spree.*only selected ones. the last i was forced to join was Malaysian Young Model Competition endorsed by MODA. i think it has a great rapport as this is supported by the government unlike MiFA.it has taught me alot, apart from the earlier experiences i had joining other contests - it is sure as hell make me a step closer to where i want to be. so why don't you give it a shot?

The Threads Zoo has landed YET AGAIN!!!

Back by Popular Demand and Overwhelming Responses!!

As most of you would have already known, Threads Zoo is a place in which lifestyle traders of all manners can congregate during one weekend every month to peddle their wares and exhibit their materials for the eyes of the masses!
Here, although we are open to “lifestyle traders” of all sorts, we place emphasis on fashionista “bedroom fashion bloggers and shoppers” who market their second hand clothes online via their blogs, where not only will you get an opportunity to reach a larger target market, you will also get this chance to meet your buyers face to face to build your rapport.

What’s in it for you?
Basically, we will be providing you with a space to sell your stuff. Our venue will function similarly to a flea market, BUT the upper hand you get is that it is situated indoors and as opposed to steamy sweaty outdoor flea markets, we have it indoors, basking in the comfort of this special technology named airconditioning!
And amongst all this, the customers will still be able to enjoy the HIP ambience of a flea market ala woodstock, bohemian, nomadic; u name it. If they roam and they're hip, we’ve got it all. We will adorn the walls and floors with beautiful designs reminiscent of the old hippy era.
Simply put, this is the epitome of a flea market with perks.

Free Marketing?
And the cherry atop the cake, we will get your name and your wares across to the masses with no extra costs to you whatsoever!! Imagine what cash you’d have to fork out if you were doing it on your own. We’ll all end up with bleeding noses.
We will be distributing flyers, placing banners, maintaining a strong online presence with a website that at the previous event has proven to have strong HITS. We even had articles in newspapers and supportive blogs and we’ll be pushing for more coverage soon!!

Is this for you?
Of course what you’ll be needing is material to sell and you MUST be fun. We can begin to smell that sweet sweet stench of cash in the air now.. MMMMMMMM YUMMY
And unlike the previous event, we’re opening this round to a wider spectrum of traders, where you don’t only have to sell your fashionable clothes, bags and shoes, you can pretty much sell anything you want as long as it’s LIFESTYLE BASED, CARRIABLE and COOL. You want to sell your old CDs, accessories; if you think you can sell it, then BY ALL MEANS! Just as long as you don’t attempt to sell off your bf or gf there!
But to avoid repetition of stocks, we would appreciate it if we could brief through them prior to them being displayed. Since amongst our people, we have models and fashionistas who will be able to assist in such selection criteria.
EASY BREEZY RIGHT?? Then keep on reading…

Then how do I get started?
To be one of our vendors, which we so endearingly and lovingly call “Zookeepers”, all you have to do is fill out a form which we have provided below, giving us all your details and pictures of the material that you are planning to sell, and mail it back to us. Some brief descriptions of the items (i.e. this handbag was used by Hitler’s wife) would be helpful too! Hahaha!

Then?
After you’ve dutifully signed up with us, we will provide you with a 4x6 (or bigger) plot at our venue in TTDI Plaza (please see pictures below) and it will be entirely up to you how you wish to dress and beautify it up. We also have amenities such as racks and hangers and items of that sort for minimal additional costs. And I MEAN MINIMAL. Other than that, you can bring your own stuff, so we won’t patronize you by telling YOU what to do with your own space. Creativity shall flow from thy brain now!
There will be refreshments and music, possibly a live band if we can entice one to perform their acts on our cute and interesting makeshift stage. A little excitement for the boyfriends that follow their girl girl. : )r

Charges for Zookeeping?

We will be charging RM100 per space / per day. We will issue these spaces as packages, so tough luck. You’ll have to take both days, UNLESS there are any openings. We will be issuing a total of 25 spaces initially. This could change so we’ll keep you updated.

Yeah, we have done our market research! The conventional flea markets have much less to offer and on top of that, you’ll have to brave the scorching heat and soggy weather… so do the math!!

We would also like to take this opportunity to extend our warmest THANKS, GRACIAS, MERCI, ARIGATOU, XIE XIE, DANKE SCHON, SPACIBO and RHUMBA NANDRI to everyone who made the previous Threads Zoo possible as we definitely had the utmost fun, the music, the drinks and the people we meet; this event is something we will forever keep in our hearts, and partially in our pockets.

The turnout was SO good that we were hectic as heck and from there, have learned our ultimate lesson. BRING MORE PEOPLE!! The more the merrier.

This weekend, we got together
Zookeeper HOla could not make it to the meet
simply because she is still in the selling-off mode at a personal garage sale

so we ended up with Zookeeper Fridah & Tiara aka Pearl
at Bijou Hartamas.
well i missed the breakfast set by 5 mins
and thats not cool..
